Station 75 expands the Richland Fire Department’s coverage in the PNNL and Port of Benton area, and will house new personnel. Designed around the Station 74 prototype, 75 is slightly downsized and includes a police substation. The design aesthetic reflects the mid-century architectural history of Richland, while the materials and color scheme for 75 are oriented toward the research park and port district context. The primary challenge with this location was schedule, as the station needed to be placed in service quickly to house grant-funded expansion of firefighting personnel. The progressive design-build delivery enabled an aggressive schedule approach.
