The Grant County Fire District had been struggling to balance cost and program of a new station with a prior design team. Our team (Architects West/Perlman Architects) assisted them in refining the program, reorganizing internal response routing for greater efficiency, and providing the same function and amenity in a smaller footprint.
This new 15,550 fire station features five bays, career fire fighter living space with six dorms, administration office area, and a large training room. Site development includes space for future training props, display for historic half-track, and memorial plaza. The design aesthetic is reflective of the rural region and agricultural context of the site. The final bid amount saved the District enough resources to construct a memorial plaza within the original budget.
