Built to replace an aging facility, the new Bishop White Seminary continues the story of its predecessor into the next generation. Created to house seminary students, priests, and support staff, Bishop White Seminary responds to its close association with the historic Gonzaga University Campus with elegance.
The project consists of demolition of an existing facility and construction of a new 22,275 square foot, three story dormitory building containing nineteen dorm rooms, three priest apartments, dining facility, full service kitchen, conference, space, administration offices, and a 50 seat chapel.
Located in an urban setting, the design team maximized the buildable area in terms of allowable footprint, number of stories and maximum building height while maintaining appropriate scale and generous landscaping. Public spaces blend into outdoor patios with generous screening to maintain intimacy and living quarters are situated for privacy.
